Modern Warfare 2 Profile Backup

In case you were wondering if you want to get a backup for your ever-evolving stats and records on your Modern Warfare profile, you should rest easy.

But if you still insist, the location of your profile is here "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\call of duty modern warfare 2\players"

Modern Warfare 2 Profiles are stored online, thus, unneding anything to backup. 

So if you feel the need to format your pc or if it crashes, you can still retrieve your stats by just reinstalling the game and singing in to your steam account.

Notes:
There are glitches that can prevent you from overwriting your profile stats even when you play online. If you use deep freeze and update to a newer version, your stats before the deep freeze point will be preserved.

Modern Warfare 2 Weapon Stats

Here is your gun stats on paper. The usual stats over the game sometimes can be deceiving, here are your real numbers. Click on the image to enlarge and save it to your computer.

Notes:

Assaults:

Famas is more accurate than the m16. The m16 has shorter max damage. Aside from that, the only way for the m16 reloads a second faster and to get the same accuracy as the FAMAS is to attach a Holographic Sight.

The FAL assault rifle is always a 2 hit affair in normal,non-hardcore mode with or without stopping power.

Sub-Machine Guns:

Attaching a rapid fire to the UMP45 will increase the recoil so much thus preventing you to hit even mid range targets.

Vector Sub-machine gun will likely have more damage over time rather than raw damage.

Shotguns:

The model 1887 has been nerfed or lowered in long range damage in recent patches. Using FMJ+Akimbo has the same range as other shotguns except the spaz having the longest range recently.

Sniper Rifles:

The intervention has low idle sway but can only fire a bullet in intervals. The 50 cal. can be semi auto but having the worst idle sway. 

Launchers:

AT4HS can have 2 shots only if you scavenge for it, by default only gives you 1 ammo.

Despite equiping a Grenade Launcher Attachment to your assault weapon, you will still get only 2 shots if you add a thumper as your secondary.

A $2 way to enable adding friends on Steam

We all know Zero Gear Beta has been deprived of beta keys. Anybody who recently registers cannot even add their friends on steam.

What I did is just buy a 2 buck game called Psychonauts which was  10 bucks before (its a great platformer game btw) and you're all set. Just ask a friend with paypal, give 'em 3 bucks for their trouble and ask for it as a gift on steam, easy and painless, it also makes you a legit steam buyer so they won't have much to say about your hacked Zero Gear - Modern Warfare demo... But if they did, its was just a 2 bucks USD and really nothing to worry about.

Real Prestige Badges

A lot of crap that google results show fake stuff on prestige badges in Modern Warfare 2, Here is the real deal and take a look on what you might get next. Just be hopeful you won't bump onto exp modifying servers to prevent your progress to be easily boosted which equals less fun albeit getting you further.

I recently joined a bogus exp server and one kill got me from level 12 to lvl 70 in an instant, I was like wtf??? Well anyway, enjoy the badges ladies...

Modern Warfare 2 Server Control: A taste of dedicated server controls

If you haven't been out in the MW2 PC scene yet, there is now a great way to get ahead of hackers. The latest Parovoz crack is capable of having server control if you are the one hosting.

(note: once i bought a game on steam, I noticed something, I have higher chances of hosting which is quite puzzling to me, but then, it maybe just coincidence)

What you can do for now is:

Change maps
Kick players
Tweak other settings in the game


This can be enabled if you install the zero gear exploit plus the parovoz 175v2 crack lying out there in the wild. Oh well, here is the LINK if you are lazy to find it. (You have to register first guys)

So how can you do this? Well if you are the one hosting, you can ctrl-esc out and you will see the dev console waiting for you. Most of the commands are fairly simple and almost the same as cod4 commands.

Dedicated Servers!

How to create a server on v1.0.175:
1. Join 3rd Person Cage Match Playlist;
2. Once you get into a game (And are the host.), enter the following commands in your console:
sv_maxclients 18
party_maxplayers 18
map mp_rust
3. Once you've loaded Rust, enter the following:
scr_dm_timelimit 1
4. The game will end in a minute, from there you should have a lobby with 18 available slots. The next step is to type:
playlist dm
5. This will switch the playlist over to Team Deathmatch. The first game will be a FFA, and all games after that will be TDM.

6. Change scr_dm_timelimit back to normal.

(server admin only) If you want to get rid of 3rd person, type:
g_gametype
scr_thirdperson 0
map
playlist 18 tdm

Here are some console commands:

map eg: map mp_rust

the map names uses "mp_" prefix and they're located in ".../zone/english/".

- active playlist: playlist 0 / 1 / ... / 16 // 13 - 3rd person dm, 0 - tdm, ...

Zero Gear and Modern Warfare 2

It seems that you can also play with your "desired" version of Modern Warfare in steam. Just follow the instructions if you want to play there. I will say this again, only do this if you have a legit game installed and I will not be responsible for banned steam accounts.

Callsigns and Emblems and how to Unlock them
